[Samba] Upgrading SAMBA from 4.2.2 to 4.2.13

Hey everyone

Have a (relatively) old CentOS SAMBA4 Active Directory running version
4.2.2, time to upgrade to the latest in the 4.2 series.

As it's running as a VM on ESXI I have it backed up by VEEAM and I can take
a snapshot before making any changes.

Any major items to be aware of before upgrading to 4.2.13? Any reason I
should not perhaps be looking a bit further to the 4.4.x release series?

Many thanks!

Thanks Marc, as far as I can see only the strong LDAP would pertain to my install (it's very simple setup I have, one CentOS DC as a VM, one CentOS box as a file server and one firewall with VPN authentication via LDAP). Firewall does support TLS for LDAP so I'm going to give it a bash over the weekend.

Regards

This depents on your environment. :-)

You should always check the release notes from the versions you plan to skip. Then you can decite if there's something that has a negative impact or requires some work.
