What the rules are... well if you the “admin” you are allowed to set the rules.. :-/
But i suggest the following
This :
A$c(5ak3! Is a BAD PASSWORD to easy to crack. 4 weeks.
ThisShouldBeMyVerySecretPassword4Me is a GOOD password.
Wil never be cracked since that will take 429 tredecillion years to crack :-)
Try it out here : https://howsecureismypassword.net/
So core rule, if its not long its easy to crack.
Im forceing my users not to 20 char password and if they complain.
Just make some thing the can remember.... like WeLovetheServerAdminAlwaysAndSambaAllDay ;-)

Louis

Thanks for the reply Louis,
I was able to find that command fairly easily, my question was what are the rules that the command sets and requires for passwords. Such as "requires 3 types of characters out of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols" and "passwords cannot contain the same sequence of at least three characters repeated in the password" or other such rules. I could not find these rules anywhere.
Thanks,
-James

Hello,
What are the domain password complexity rules for Samba4?
Maybe I am just blind, but I am having a hard time finding this info in the
documentation or on Google.
Thanks,
